Design a simple and attractive logo for conex : photoshop tutorial

hello friends, this is the first tutorial on meritox.com. In this tutorial we are going to create a logo for conex. If you are very beginner in photoshop then this logo is best practice for you. this is our final output after following few steps.

step 1: create a new document, name it conex logo and select all as shown here

step 2: Now select Ellipse Tool from tools panel and make a circle by holding down shift key. fill circle with black color and rename it as outer circle.

step 3: Now duplicate the circle by press Ctrl+J. fill it with green color and rename it as inner circle. the Hex value of green color is #5ec916.

step 4: Now select the  inner circle and press Ctrl+T to resize the circle. click and hold on one of corner of box and drag in inner side to make it smaller. hold Ctrl and alt to resize it uniformly and on its center.

step 5: Now select Type tool by pressing T, select font and size as shown in this snap and type Conex.

step 6: Now position it on the black circle as shown here. to make letters closer( Tracking), click between letters and hold down Alt key and use Left/Right arrow keys to change gape.

step 7: Now we need to cut some part of circle and text.
select the text layer from layers  and create a layer mask.To create a mask  click on mask icon shown in this box.(if Mask window not shown then go to window meun -> and select Masks)

Now press D to reset the colors and select black color. select Brush tool by pressing B and draw over the letter 'n' and hide some part of 'n' as shown at '2'.

step 8: Now select the outer circle layer and create a layer mask here. select brush tool(B) and draw with black color in mask.

step 9: Now select green circle and apply following layer style (layer->layer style->inner shadow)

step 10: Now apply small gradient to outer circle.  select layer style and apply these settings. use default black and white gradient.

step 11: Select the background layer. Now press D to reset color to black and white and then select gradient tool (G) and create in background layer by drawing a line from top left corner to bottom right corner.
also add subtitle of logo we care your eyes in lighter color than black.
this is the final logo we design in few steps with simple gradient.
